Wearable power source for EL wire

I made two of those power sources for garments with integrated EL wire (EL = electroluminescent) that my girlfriend made for an artistic performance. It uses a step-up circuit to transform 3 Volts from the AAA batteries to 5 volts that are pushed to 170 volts AC by the inverter. The power source has belt loops to be wearable.

Plugging in the EL wire needs to be quick. so I soldered the USB plug that came with the inverter directly to the EL wire and gave the power source a USB-jack. It’s probably a bit problematic to make a device that outputs 170V AC via USB, but the bright side is that it can be used as a powerbank for people you don’t like.
